After an absence of eight years, 2017 marks the return of the prestigious South African Women's Masters to Sunshine Ladies Tour schedule.

The championship is the second event in the Chase to the Investec Cup for Ladies series and, with a purse of R500 000, is the richest event on the Sunshine Ladies Tour.

This esteemed tournament will be contested at Rondebosch Golf Club from 19 to 21 January. It takes the format of 54 holes of stroke play played over the three days, and is preceded by the Mayor's Challenge (Pro-Am) on Tuesday 17 January.

Lee-Anne Pace is targeting an unmatched record of becoming the first player on the South African professional women's golf circuit to win the national championship for a third time.

Founded in 1988, the South Africa Women's Open is the nation's oldest women's professional golf tournament. The SA Women's Open is the third event on the 2017 Sunshine Ladies Tour schedule.

For the fifth consecutive year, San Lameer on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, plays host to the South African Women's Open from 26 to 28 January 2017.

The 54-hole tournament, sanctioned by WPGA of South Africa, carries a purse of R250 000.
