Matsamo Cultural Village, Mpumalanga

A must-do Swazi culture experience

Established in 2014, the Matsamo Cultural Village seamlessly mixes education with entertainment to promote Swazi culture. Guests at the village are treated to folk songs, dance performances, music and traditional cuisine.

Matsamo offers a guided tour through the village showcasing the many huts and spaces, and interacting with the villagers as they go about their daily activities - cultivating crops, preparing food and making beautiful craft works.

The evening experience, enjoy the rich Swazi tradition, through story telling around the fire, traditional food tasting, folk music and dance and a braai dinner.

Special tours can be arranged where you can take part in the in traditional preparation, beading, traditional floor cleaning, milking cows, grinding maize, making drums and more.

The on-site curio shop has an array of Swazi cultural products sourced from local communities and on sale.
