First Car Rental's rhino orphan campaign takes flight

May 2014 – Since its launch at Meetings Africa in February 2014, First Car Rental's charity campaign – The Rhino Orphanage ‘Post Your Selfie and Win' competition - has achieved astounding success.

So far, the campaign has garnered support from South African celebrities and sports stars, including cricket legend, Mark Boucher; SABC superstar, Leanne Manas; singing sensation, Heinz Winckler; top women's professional golfer, Lee-Anne Pace; and Mrs South Africa CEO, Joani Johnson to name a few. It has also been featured at some of the country's top events.

There have been over 100 selfies taken, which exposes the campaign to all followers, fans and friends of each and every selfie taken – which takes the reach to thousands.

Social media has also been fired up with over 100 retweets and over 450 likes for #Rhinos1st related posts.

The Rhino Orphanage Nissan Juke, which has been specially wrapped to look like a mom rhino with a baby rhino, made its way to a number of prestigious events over the past months and people from across the country have been posting their selfies with the vehicle to show their support for rhino orphans.

In March, The Rhino Orphanage Nissan Juke was at The Cape Getaway Show at the stunning Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West from 14 to 16 March 2014 and there was fabulous support! In April, The Rhino Orphanage Nissan Juke made its way to Joburg's famous Rand Show, which took place at the Johannesburg Expo Centre from 18 to 28 April 2014.

The car was parked at the Animal Kingdom section of the event and the support was immense. Many participants went all the way to the Animal Kingdom just to post their selfies with the car!

Staff at the Legend Golf & Safari Resort, where one of the Nissan Jukes has been parked, showed a great deal of support by encouraging all their team members to post selfies and even got some of their clients to share the love with the baby rhino!

This month The Rhino Orphanage Nissan Juke was featured at Indaba 2014 at Durban ICC – Africa's top travel exhibition. on May 19 it can be spotted at The Duke of Edinburgh Championship in Johannesburg – South Africa's most prestigious amateur golf competition.

The competition is getting fierce and participants are getting even more creative with their selfies! From blowing kisses to using props, participants are doing their best to post a great selfie, spread the message and claim the big prize!
