January 2019 - Corporate frequent flyers and leisure travelers can now complete the car hire check-out process faster than ever. With First Car Rental's Self-Service stations, corporate renters on account can finish check-out in a record time of 18 seconds, while leisure travelers using the online prepaid pre-auth capability can do so in as little as 48 seconds when paying by credit card. These Self-Service stations are available at major First Car Rental airport locations throughout South Africa, with the remainder of its 52 branches going live by the end of this quarter.

First Car Rental, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the JSE-listed vehicle retail group, Combined Motor Holdings (CMH), has introduced these fast and convenient Self-Service touch-screen monitors as part of the company's ongoing commitment to providing superior customer service and cutting-edge technology.

Currently, First Car Rental's Self-Service terminals feature dual-screen monitors to assist newcomers, allowing branch staff to intervene or simply offer moral support. However, since the soft launch in August last year, statistics reveal that First Car Rental's customers are very tech-savvy and engage effortlessly with the touchscreen technology.

A national operations manager for a well-known construction company based in Cape Town recently mentioned that his company moved their corporate car rental account to First Car Rental because of the advanced Self-Service product and the massive benefits it offers. "I fly every week. It's quick, far less stressful for me, and it improves my company's ability to guarantee appointment times with my own customers."

These new Self-Service stations enable renters to review rental information, change their vehicle type, add additional drivers, and purchase optional extras like glass and tyre waivers, GPS navigation units, and child car seats.
