On 28 August 2025, First Car Rental proudly participated in the UJ School of Tourism and Hospitality Career Day, a dynamic event designed to connect students with the industry leaders shaping their future.
The day began with the Industry Liaison Meeting, where our team engaged with faculty members, career services, and partners in the tourism and hospitality space. These discussions focused on how stronger partnerships can open more doors for students—from internships and learnerships to long-term career opportunities. For First Car Rental, it was an important platform to align with educational institutions and ensure the next generation has the support it needs to thrive.
Following this, the spotlight shifted to the lively Career Fair, where hundreds of students poured in to meet and interact with brands from across the industry. The First Car Rental stand quickly became a hub of excitement, as learners asked questions about our operations, values, and career pathways. It was a valuable opportunity to showcase the depth of opportunities available in our business, from customer service and operations to logistics and fleet management.
Beyond brand visibility, the day was a success in terms of impact. Over 60 students registered their interest with us via our online form, providing a direct channel to connect with talented young people who are eager to explore careers in tourism and transport. For many, it was their first encounter with the brand, and we’re proud to have left them with not just information but inspiration.
As Ayanda from our HR team put it, “This is about more than filling positions. It’s about investing in people who will carry the industry forward.”
