    Dear Shantelle

    I want to thank Lucy for helping resolve our issue and set our mind at ease.

    My brother's flight from JHB to CPT was diverted back to JHB due to technical issues. On arriving in JHB and getting clarity on when they would be able to fly back to CPT, he made the call to First Car Rental Cape Town International Airport to inform them that he would not be able to collect the car at 08h30. The lady who answered the call said that she could not guarantee that they would be able to get a vehicle due to peak season.

    As they were now already getting back onto the next flight to CPT, I made another call on his behalf to First Car Rental Cape Town International Airport. Again, the response was that there would be no guarantee of a car. I then called the Call Centre number and got through to Lucy - what a difference in attitude and willingness to assist!

    From her initial response of asking for the reservation number, I already knew that she would do everything possible to resolve the matter. Lucy asked me to hold a few times - which I was happy to do - and she managed to re-book the pick-up time for later that day at 13h00.

    She really took a bad service experience and turned it into a positive experience and outcome. Again, a huge thank you to Lucy.

    Dear First Car Rental

    We hired a car during the holidays and left some important documents in the car on returning the car on the 1st of January. In desperation, I called the helpline and spoke with Siphiwe. He went out of his way to help and did eventually, after much effort, find the documents.

    He was friendly and courteous, and called back as he said he would repeatedly. And the service we received was in stark contrast to the poor service we received at the front desk at Cape Town International Airport. He is an asset to your business.

    What started as a real nightmare, where we cursed and said not this car rental company ever again, ended with we will use this car rental company every time we rent a car.

    This huge mind shift was as a direct result of the most amazing compassion and outstanding service of Belinda. Thanks to her understanding of our frustration, Belinda, with the support of Rob, addressed our frustration, followed up every step of the way and sorted us out.

    Our friend, a senior partner in KPMG, was so impressed that he used your service when he returned to Johannesburg.
