A train to nowhere

The Santos Express Train Lodge is a genuine train situated on Santos Beach in Mossel Bay. With double, single and budget units, guests can enjoy a unique experience of staying on a real train only 30m from the sea.

The Santo Express feature five coaches, four of which are identical with 5 compartments (2-4 sleepers) and 2 coupes (1-2 sleepers). The fifth coach has been divided into a 16-bed dormitory with a lounge, and the Caboose - an en-suite room with a private balcony.

The Royal Suites - two vintage, wooden coaches built in the 1920s - offer four luxury suites with private sea-view decks, en-suite facilities, and a complimentary full English breakfast.

The train lodge also offers various facilities to ensure a memorable stay; these include a restaurant and bar, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, braai area, and a conference venue.

Ideally located, the Santos Express is a mere 10-minute walk from the Dias Museum Complex, the harbour and the city centre. Activities and attractions in the area include game drives, hiking trails, skydiving and bungee jumping, as well as shark cage diving, whale watching and Seal Island boat trips.
