Rocktail Bay, KwaZulu-Natal

Rocktail Bay is one of South Africa's premier diving spots and is also ranked as one of the best places in the world to dive. The bay got its name after a trawling ship, the Rocktail, was wrecked offshore.

Today, Rocktail Bay is known for its unspoiled dive spots. iSimangaliso Wetland Park's coral reefs are sustained by the warm, nutrient-rich waters of the Agulhas Current - creating some of the world's best diving spots. Rocktail Bay is also known for its popularity amongst loggerhead and leatherback turtles that come here to lay their eggs on the sandy beaches.
