Harold Porter Botanical Garden, Western Cape

Harold Porter Botanical Garden

Just 100km from Cape Town, between Gordon's Bay and Betty's Bay, is the Harold Porter Botanical Garden, which lies in the epicenter of the Cape fynbos region.

Nature trails meander up into the garden with a Khoi-San indigenous garden displaying a host of local useful and medicinal plants.

The garden has an abundant wildlife such as mongooses, otters, dassies and baboons, which are frequently seen. A must-see is the garden's small but excellent art gallery.

There are indigenous plants are for sale and a curio shop has little trinkets and memorabilia for sale.

There are open-air concerts hosted at sunset during the summer.
