Flycatcher Castle, Mpumalanga

Fantasy escape in the Lowveld

Flycatcher Castle Ruby Royal

Set in the style of a 17th century Italian castle, Flycatcher Castle was designed and completed by sculptor, Manie Connoway. A variety of relics, antique furniture and art were collected throughout South Africa and abroad to create a grand fairy-tale experience.

Accommodation at the castle consists of five suites, each decorated in styles of 19th century composers. Evoking a grand ambience, all suites feature spectacular views, antique furniture, free-standing baths, walk-in showers, and striking décor.

A sixth suite, The Ruby Royal, is daring and exciting Arabian experience. The bold suite features a four-meter-high mirrored ceiling in the bedroom; an indoor garden; a throne chamber (toilet) decorated in mirrors, ruby jewels and optic fibre lights; and a solar-heated indoor plunge pool.

Other features of the castle include an art gallery, a small chapel for weddings, a health spa and jacuzzi, elegantly designed gardens, and a restaurant with Bohemian-style cooking.

Ideally situated, there is an abundance of activities and attractions that guests can enjoy including God’s Window, Mac Mac Falls, the Big Swing, Elephant Sanctuary, Sabie River Adventures, and Pilgrim's Rest.
