DumaZulu Cultural Village

South Africa's largest cultural village

DumaZulu meaning "Thundering Zulu", forms part of a living museum offering an authentic Southern Africa Zulu cultural experience.

On a visit to this cultural village, guests learn more about Zulu customs, the role of the ancestors and traditional healers, the significance of traditional dress, and the importance of cattle and their role in courtship and marriage.

During a 90-minute guided tour, guests experience a consultation with the sangoma (traditional healer), music and traditional dance, and taste traditional beer. Guests will also witness the manufacturing of spears, shields, clay pots, beadwork and baskets.

The nearby Bird and Reptile Park is the largest free-flying aviary in the province and is home to a variety of exotic and indigenous snakes, an abundance of birds, as well as frogs, crocodiles and lizards.
