About the Engen Volkswagen Cup
The Engen Volkswagen Cup is about giving young, talented racing drivers a platform from which to improve and test their skills.
The Cup has been the training ground for one of South Africa's most famous drivers - Tschops Sipuka - who became the first black South African Motorsport Champion to represent SA at the international championship
Each Cup event follows a one, two or three race format. At a one race event, drivers need to complete more laps, sometimes up to 25 laps. These longer races earn the winner more points, but are also an extreme test of driver fitness, strategy and how to conserve their resources on track to win - or to finish at all.
In two and three race formats, the circuit is shorter.
