First Car Rental Drives Nedbank Charity Golf Day

November 2017- First Car Rental once again stepped up to the tee to offer quality car hire sponsorship to several auction-lots for the formidable Nedbank SA Charity Golf Day held in the UK on 15 September this year at the exclusive Burhill Golf Club in Surrey, London.

This long-standing and trusted fundraising event brings together sports stars, celebrities, businesses and industry professionals from the UK, South Africa and further afield, providing an opportunity to network and raise funds for deserving South African charities.

People like ex-rugby Springbok, Francois Pienaar, and ex-international cricketer, Clive Rice, who, with businessman, Geoff Johnson, not only played in the day but formed a trust for the first five years to distribute funds towards sport for children in South African townships.

Since the event's inception in the mid-90's, the charity golf day has managed to raise in excess of £1.7 million for distribution (R33 million) to South African charities, and has steadily grown to become the top charity golf event in Europe, attracting, on average, 360 golfers and 500 Gala Dinner guests.

This year, for the 6^th time in a row, Nedbank, generously decided to lend its name to the Nedbank South African Charity Golf Day, the first time Nedbank has done this outside of the well-known annual Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City.
