CMH staff power KwaMakhutu High School

October 2016 - Thanks to the heart-warming efforts of staff at Combined Motor Holdings Group (CMH), which includes First Car Rental staff, a total of R400 000 has been raised for CMH's adopted school, KwaMakhuta Comprehensive High School, in KwaZulu-Natal, currently educating nearly 2 000 learners.

Pan-African Passport

CMH and First Car Rental staff fully embraced this project by donating to the KwaMakhuta Comprehensive via deductions from their monthly salaries. CMH then matched all staff contributions Rand for Rand, effectively doubling the amount donated through staff.

Since 2014, CMH and First Car Rental have accomplished the following:

Nine computers donated; new teaching aids and technical equipment for the Science and Maths' lab; sponsored sports gear for 3 of the school's soccer teams; quantity surveyor and plans drawn up for the science lab; all building work completed for the Science lab, which is fully functional with new equipment, sinks, taps and more; and new furniture to help the students promote Maths and Science in the area.

The new facilities have been very well maintained over the past 2 years by the students who take such great pride in this gift from CMH staff, therefore allowing future generations at the school the same enjoyment in these subjects.

A heart-felt "thank you" to First Car Rental customers for contributing to this outstanding project through the donation option on our online booking portal.
