FlySafair launches new routes

July 2015 - From October 2015, FlySafair will be flying to Durban and East London.

FlySafair

The low-cost airline, which is First Car Rental's official flight partner, will be flying return routes from Durban to Johannesburg and Cape Town; and from East London to Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Bookings for the new routes are now open, with air fares starting from as low as R399 one way.

FlySafair will be the first low cost airline to fly the East London to Cape Town route since 1 Time Airlines went into liquidation in November 2012. (SA Express is currently the only airline that operates direct flights on this route.)

Overwhelming support

At the end of May 2015, FlySafair launched a poll asking South Africans to vote for a preferred new route. The airline said the voting response from the public was "so overwhelming" that they decided to launch all four routes instead of just one.

FlySafair will be adding two Boeing 737-400 aircrafts to its additional operational fleet to accommodate the extended schedule, bringing the total fleet up to six aircraft. The airline is also in negotiations to add an additional three aircraft to its fleet over the next few months.
