150km of mtb nirvana

Described as a "mountain biking nirvana", the Gariep Dam offers an extensive network of 150km of trails for riders of all ages and fitness levels.

For a fast and demanding ride, the interior of the nature reserve offers riders a range of gravel routes with sharp and high inclines and very fast descents. For riders in a more playful mood, there are dual tracks, footpaths and rock gardens to choose from.

There is incredible scenery and numerous interlinked routes giving riders a new experience on every visit. There is an abundance of wildlife, including mountain zebras, kudu, springbok, hartebeest and black wildebeest for riders to spot.

Stretching over 100km in length, Gariep Dam is also a water-sports enthusiast's paradise with an abundance of water activities such as sailing and sunset cruises, powerboating, fly-fishing and canoeing.
