First Car Rental Turns Sweet 16

First Car Rental Birthday

At First Car Rental, the month of April is about celebrating the company's extraordinary journey to become one of SA's top car rental companies.

In 2015, the company celebrates its 16th year in business.

First Car Rental Birthday

Registered in 1999 and launched under the name of National Alamo, a car rental subsidiary under the CMH Group, it started out with just three car rental branches and 45 fleet vehicles.

In 2008, CMH registered First Car Rental after Europcar purchased the franchise rights to the National Alamo brand in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Today, First Car Rental has 49 branches, 6,500 fleet vehicles and 468 purple-hearted employees across South Africa.

First Car Rental has also branched out into the world, with an operational presence in Malta, Mauritius, Tanzania and Turkey.

Recognised for 'exceptional service'

First Car Rental has won numerous awards over the last 16 years, including being recognised as a Top 500 South African company for four consecutive years.

In 2014, First Car Rental scooped the illustrious 'Most Consistent Performer over the Past Three Years' Award at the South African Service Awards, defeating all of its competitors and South Africa's big industry and retail contenders.

It's been an extraordinary journey so far and thank you for being a part of it. Here's to the next 16 years!
