Peter Mokaba Stadium – Polokwane

The Peter Mokaba Stadium is situated in Polokwane (previously known as Pietersburg), the capital of the Limpopo province. It is one of the five newly constructed stadiums specifically built for the 2010 Soccer World Cup and is set to house various other sports and sporting events thereafter. The new Peter Mokaba Stadium was built next to the old stadium, in the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex.

The design of this 2010 stadium is said to have been inspired by the locally iconic Baobab tree with four supporting ‘trunk' structures that hold up the vertical ramps and service cores.

The 2010 match dates have been set and the Peter Mokaba stadium has been chosen as a venue to host several first round matches of the Soccer World Cup. With a seating capacity of 46 000, the stadium is sure to see many excited fans flock in to enjoy the thrilling game of soccer.
