Free State Stadium - Free State
The old Free State Stadium saw a massive revamp in advance of the 2010 Soccer World Cup. It will be a proud host to 5 first round matches and 1 second round match during the 2010 World Cup.
On the western side of the ground, a second tier was added to the main grandstand, and now the Free State Stadium can house a capacity of 48 000 from the previous 36 538. In addition to the new tier, other improvements have been implemented including newly created turnstiles, the installation of electronic scoreboards, upgrading of the floodlights - as well as a revamp of the sound system and improvement of media facilities.
The Free State Stadium is conveniently located close to many hotels and other accommodation. Once visitors have enthusiastically enjoyed the games of soccer in the 2010 stadium, they can spend time exploring the city and the various activities it has to offer.
