Cape Town Stadium – Green Point

The magnificent Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town is a completely new structure erected on the coast of Table Bay in Cape Town.

The Cape Town Stadium replaced the previous Green Point stadium (18 000 capacity) which was demolished in the process of building, making way for the new larger than life 2010 stadium set to house the exciting Soccer World Cup.

Designed to house a capacity of 70 000, the Cape Town Stadium is a modern, environmentally sustainable and technologically advanced building that can operate in all weather conditions. Aesthetic architectural elements have been taken into account and the stadium is largely defined by a sweeping silhouette of the curved roof. There are 6 principle levels and the roof of this 2010 stadium is also accessible, including the ‘Ring of Fire’ lighting and media zone.
